EPA Reaffirms Glyphosate Safety

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has reaffirmed in a public announcement that there is no risk to human health from glyphosate, the active ingredient in RoundUp® herbicide. A detailed examination of data gathered to date is included, as is a critique on the limitations of the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer review of glyphosate, which first announced glyphosate as a probable carcinogen.

However, EPA has proposed a handful of label amendments intended to better manage drift and herbicide resistance development.
