USDA Plant Import Permit Changes Noted

Holders of greenhouse and nursery plant import permits are noticing some changes as they go through the online process to renew their permits. Most notably, the USDA’s Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) now requires those seeking or renewing a permit to provide botanical information for all the plant taxa they wish to import. This usually means to the genus level, although some plants require genus and species to be identified.
