Another Run at Regulatory Relief

Senator Portman (R-OH) and Senator Heitkamp (D-ND) introduced the Regulatory Accountability Act (RAA) to the Senate at the end of April. The RAA updates the Administrative Procedures Act for the first time in over 70 years to increase accountability and transparency in the federal regulatory process. An overall goal is to reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens on job creators yet still allow agencies to protect public health and safety and the environment.
